I saw some reviews that indicated that when you updated the firmware, users experienced problems. Since my router is new, it indicates that there is an update available for my router. an agent told me not to update unless I was online with support. I don't understand this. Has anyone had this issue.

You should be fine to upgrade the firmware just make sure you do it with a PC directly connect via wired ethernet and not with a device connected via the wireless.
