Large difference between WiFi speed and direct link speed

I have a tested speed of 350 mbps when I connect directly to the modem.  That speed drops to less than 25 mbps over wifi on multiple devices.  What do I need to do to improve the wifi speed?

Re: Large difference between WiFi speed and direct link speed

Is your WMM enabled?  I had very slow internet speeds for awhile likely a result of firmware update in June but didn't really pay attention to it until recently.  I spent last night troubleshooting it (including downgrading firmwares).  I finally saved my config, reset the router and I was getting full speed.  I loaded my config again and back to 20 Mbps.  I reset the modem and started from scratch fiddling with different settings.  I finally determined it was the WMM.  The moment I enabled it went back to full speed.  With one of the firmware updates it seems that WMM is required to attain full speed over wireless.

Hi HSP,

What is the firmware version of the router?

What is the speed when wired to the router?

Re: Large difference between WiFi speed and direct link speed

I am experiencing a large difference in the tested speed provided by my router.  I run the tests on my MacBook Pro.

When connected by ethernet I am testing at 350 Mbps

When I run the same test over WiFi my speed drops to a range of 15 - 27 Mbps

I am using the 5G setting and have the Firmware Version 1.0.9.14 installed.
