Netgear R6700v3
I have Mediacom 1gig service will my router handle the speed? Is it a wifi 6 enabled with a firmware update which I did?

You could see near 900Mpbs thru the router with a ethernet connected PC.
You not see anywhere near 900mpbs over with with this router.
This model router only supported WiFi 5 with in it hardware. Next generation wifi requires a hardware change. No FW can change that.

Should do. It offers 1000BASE-T on the WAN and LAN ports.

To see which sort of wifi your now ageing (2018) router supports, Manuals are always a good place to start.

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
As the title for this section says, WiFi 5.
Firmware will not update that.
But do you have Wifi 6 clients that can used it?
