New WIFI Router Suggestions Switching from ARRIS SB 6190
Hi Folks,
We have the ARRIS SB 6190 installed now and it constantly drops WIFI for all our iphones and TV;s
It will run fine than we have to call Comcast for a reset and/or unplug and reboot almost the router almost daily... They tell us it's a faulty router.
We're no exprerts here and we only use the WIFI for TV, I phones, I pad and computer work from home.
No high end gaming...
Just looking for a constant releiable WIFI.
Suggestions on whcih NETGEAR product we should purchase would be apreciated.

The SB6190 is a modem only device from arris. And its a fairly solid modem.
what router do you currently have?
Do wired devices drop at the same time or just wireless?
I'm just trying to figure out if it is indeed a modem issue or a router issue.

Thanks for the help.
There are no wired devices.
The ARRIS connects to a eero device

Re: New WIFI Router Suggestions Switching from ARRIS SB 6190
Which eero device? The Eero's are pretty solid.
I'm not trying to push you away from netgear but it sounds like you have a solid modem and router
If you log into the modem's connections page (usually 192.168.100.1), it should show you the cable connections page and logs.
You can post them here and I can take a look at them to see if there's issues.
I'd also check to see if you have any cable splitters, attenuators, or amplifiers in line. That can effect your signal too.

Re: New WIFI Router Suggestions Switching from ARRIS SB 6190
How frequently is it dropping?
your signals/lines look pretty decent.
So it could be a router issue but its still worth making sure its not the modem or line.
If it drops often enough, you can try hardwiring into the modem with a pc/laptop and using it for a period of time. Long enough that it would have normally dropped. if it stays stable, then its probably not the modem.
Then you'd want to move onto the router.
Again, eero's have been pretty solid routers. Which model do you have?
