Re: New firmware for the R7800

PR SKU (country code PR) does apply products intended for the Chinese market.

1. Funjsq is a download accelerator that is embeded within the firmware.

2. Funjsq is from China. (Google funjsq or Funjsq.com)

3. Funjsq is enabled only if QoS is enabled.

Note: Funjsq was replaced by XunYou to PR SKU e.g. on the R6700AX (-> https://kb.netgear.com/000064298/R6700AX-Firmware-Version-1-0-10-110)

Re: New firmware for the R7800

It appears to be related to qos - Still looking.  At first I thought it was related to Java Script.

Do you own a router with a China SKU, like R7800-100PRS ?  If not, noting to worry, no special handling required, because of the module isn't loaded.

Re: New firmware for the R7800

Is anyone else encountering problems with the 5G Wifi on the latest firmware version 1.0.2.90? Today I’ve tried for the second time to upgrade from .84. This time I’ve tried .90, few months ago I tried .86. Both .86 and .90 result in a very unreliable connection with my Netgear Extender EX7500. The connection between the two is great on firmware .84, around 650Mbps and green bows. On .86 and .90 it gets 48Mbps and red bows. It’s frustrating me not to know what this causes. It seemed to work for a short wile on the DFS channel 128, but radar channels always force the router to use non-DFS channels (also on firmware .84 and below). There hasn’t been an update for the EX7500 for a while, probably it needs one to deal with the R7800’s new firmware?

Re: New firmware for the R7800

Does the R7800 works with out the EX7500 being online?

What is the distance between the 7800 and EX extender?

Re: New firmware for the R7800

Yeah, the R7800 works, is online and speedtests give the same result as they did under firmware version .84. I gave the EX7500 a few factory resets. It didn't want to talk with the R7800 with WPS, but eventually a manual setup did the trick. They are now back to their old selves with a steady connection between 585-650Mbps. They're about 15 feet apart. The extender is hanging just around the corner in my hallway, so the only thing in between is a concrete wall / cardboard filled door, depending on how the signal travels.

Re: New firmware for the R7800

Well 15 feet maybe too close and 30 feet would be a starting point. However with concrete in the mix, maybe something thats causing problems.

Might try the extender maybe 5-10  feet farther away if you can...

Re: New firmware for the R7800

Just updating this to let everyone know that NG has fixed the GUI update MD5 error seen on this version of FW. Users can try to check for FW updates again using the routers web page and if the GUI is reporting needing updating, proceed and it will complete successfully now.

Wired speeds are good.

WIreless 5Ghz is great. Have 160Mhz enabled on the R7800 connected with a ASUS GT-AX11000 in wireless bridge mode:

Smart Connect enabled on manual channel 1 and 40. Beamorming and MIMO and HT160 enabled. CTS 2347.

@michaelkenward

Do you happen to use Traffic Meter on this version of FW?

Just curious...I'm using on my R7800 and it's enabled for No Limit and I'm not seening any updated Traffic specs being updated in this section. All zeros. I've had mine on since earlier this week and theres has been lots of data flow since then.

Re: New firmware for the R7800

Interesting. Same on the Nighthawk app? My app shows same, zero data.

I guess I try a factory reset though a few have already been done since the MD5 Error for the GUI update problem appeared.

Re: New firmware for the R7800

How is Traffic Meter configured on your router? Mines set for No Limit and that's it. What I normally set with other routers I test with and data collects.
