New router to replace Nighthawk AC1900 Model R7000
Hi .. router eventually died on me. Please suggest one of a similar ability. I have fiber internet supplied to apartment ( approx 100 sq metres )at 100/10 speeds. Just need router (believe no modem is needed with fiber?) to stream live sports (football/soccer) to 4 year old lcd 49"tv (wireless connection)and run a couple of android phones. Would like something wifi6 just for future proofing and believe wifes6 Samsung s22 may benefit from wireless connection. Would like netgear but seem pricey nowadays. I bought the nighthawk originally for what equates to approx 95 us $. I've viewed a couple of other makes which I assume I can't mention here . Just wondered if Netgear had a model I've missed that could do the trick. I'm in EU Scandinavia. Thanks for any advice. Cheers

Thank you all for the replies , sorry I've not responded till now. I think I've decided on a competitors (model name is RT ax58u not to mention actual company)mainly due to price and availability here in Sweden. It's probably overkill anyway but when your not sure about the technical details like what a dual, Tri, or quad core processor at different speeds make to a modems performance, you tend to buy the most you can afford ,namely 1390 Swedish kronor. Always find this forum friendly and helpful. Cheers again everyone for contributing 👍🙂

The R series routers are getting up in age. Mostly no longer available or might find something used.
RAX series is NG next generation of routers. AC and AX supporting.
Might look for something RAX## and look at the spec sheets to see what would be best fit. I'd try something RAX30 and up to maybe a RAX50 if something is available in your region.

I'm using a RAX43 since about 2 years now and have had very little problems with it. I bought it for about 160 Euro's with a discount. As FURRYe38 say, I'd leave the R series aside and go for the RAX ones.
Then check back here for reports on the things you are considering, but remember that people turn up in this community with problems, not compliments. So look at reviews on Amazon, for example.
