Night Hawk external usb

I connect my 2.5" USB to the X4S and I can see it in the modem config page

I type run and then type \\readyshare and hit the ok button

A window displays but I can't see the content of the drive if I right-click in the window I cant create a new folder (no option to do so)

also unable to drag and drop to the window

guess I have missed some basic setting??

any help much appreciated

Re: Night Hawk external usb

What OS are you running, I assume Windows?

If you run NETVIEW, what do you see, copy and paste in your reply. Mine looks like this:

=========

C:\>net view
Server Name            Remark
----------------------------------------------
\\IRV8700              Irv's 8700
\\READYSHARE           readyshare
The command completed successfully.

------------------------------

Windows key+R and entering \\readyshare works fine for me.

It could be a Windows Credentials problem or SMB1 being required? I need a credentail with the UID and PW of the router to access it as well as SMB1 running. Check for the Credential in the Control Panel to see if you have one. If you have protected the USB drive with a password you surely need that.
