Ok was excited about this Router because I saw reviews of people using this in their 3,500 sq. foot 2 story house.
Yet I have updated to the latest firmware last night and currently get broken up signals at just 35 feet away.
I will admint sometimes I close my bedroom door - but that should not make that much breakup in only 35 feet away.
Heck the Apple AirPort Extreme was doing better than this with No antennas.
I have the channel switch to Auto any other suggestions?
Also the Netgear Genie (latest version) will not close easily on Mac (OS X 10.11 El Capitan) - always have to force quit it.

It should be located on same page as QoS. Personally, I would not use QoS.

Re: Nighthawk X6 R8000 horrible range - 35 feet.
Always reset to factory after a firmware upgrade.
Always pick a wirless channel (1,6,11 in 2.4ghz NA - 150+ 5ghz)
Ensure WMM is enabled on your router.
Get the router up high. Don't leave it on a desk or in a closet.
The Genie app on a laptop / desktop / mac has been know to create problems, not only on the client, but also router / network problems. So close or unstall Geneie and connect to the router via a browser.

Thanks for the suggestions...I will try a wireless channel vs. Auto.

Re: Nighthawk X6 R8000 horrible range - 35 feet.
Found WMM - all enabled.
Should one Enable Dynamic QOS ?
or
Auto Update performance optimization database?
