Hello All,
Ive had this router for about 2 years no problems. Last night wifi stopped working - the globe light is not on - second light from the left. I was able to still connect to the internet at that time. I did a factory reset - paper clip in the small hole, now no internet and no wifi. The 2 Hertz lights are on, the wifi button is on and power is on.
Is this a paperweight now? It seems like every few years i need to buy a new one?
I cant login into the router settings, the message i get is i need to have wifi connection.
Now what?
Thanks
Frank

I called premium support, iam out of any warranty window, before signing up i asked if you figure out its broken will you replace? Answer not, Iam SOL - need to buy another. After explaining what i tried, it seems like the internet port is not working. On an old post on this site it was suggested to connect the internet port to the LAN port to see if the internet port at least lights up - no lights, port defective! After 1.5 years i cant believe its now junk! Not happy about this.Isnt that amazing, something breaks and of no fault of mine, too bad, go buy another one.

The usual destinations are:
http://www.routerlogin.com/
and
http://www.routerlogin.net
If they don't work, then the IP address might be an option. Here the usual suspects are:
http://192.168.0.1
or
http://192.168.1.1

You don't. They are local addresses to the local interface.

Re: Nighthawk - no internet, no wifi
Thanks for your reply, I tried those, iam getting nowhere. No internet still and i cannot access the settings. I even downloaded the genie, nothing. I pinged and it does see 192.168.1.1, now what? I reset about 3 times with the tiny pin hole, still nothing happening.

Have you installed Kasperky since you started using the modem?
Unable to access router management page with Kaspersky installed | Answer | NETGEAR Support
Have you tried a different browser?

Most unlikely.
If it is still in warranty, then you can start the on-line RMA process.
Look into the exact procedure for the factory reset. A lot depends on the timing.
