R6400 setting up as a wireless repeater
Hi,
I am trying to set up my R6400 as a wireless repeater to extend the range of the existing wireless modem/router. Both ends will be wireless, so bridge mode is not the option I am looking for.
I dont see that option when I login to the admin app but I have seen that in the help/support pages for similar models. If I can get a definite answer that I cant do that by hook or crrok, then I can pretty much give up this quest and buy a typical repeater.
Thanks in advance.

Is that accurate? R6400 or R6400v2? Look for "Model" on the product
label. Firmware version?

"similar" and "same" are spelled differently for a reason. Not all
models have that feature. And, because of its restrictions, it's not as
useful as as you might expect before you read the fine print.
If you're looking at the right User Manual, and the feature isn't
mentioned, and it doesn't appear in the options on the management web
site, then I'd infer that that feature is absent on your model.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read.

I'd expect that to be the wise course. Or, run an Ethernet cable (or
equivalent), and use a wireless access point (as which practically any
wireless router can be configured).

Re: R6400 setting up as a wireless repeater
It is nice that you cared (maybe) and spent some time (not much) replying to my query. Since you are considered a Guru on this forum, I guess this is the best answer I can hope for, if not very high in utility. Wish there was a down vote button, too.

What, exactly, were you expecting? Please feel free to answer the
pending questions.

I'd expect any such to work for useless problem descriptions, too.
