Re: R7000 Wrong Date/Time after firmware update
Thanks oseiasslompo!
I've now downloaded the beta firmware mentioned in the later reply from ElaineM and installed that. No sign of the correct date so far but I'll see if it updates over the next day or so.
If it doesn't work I have a copy of later firmware than the one you suggested, R7000-V1.0.4.30_1.1.67.chk from last May, which worked fine, so will go through the same process again and see if that fixes it!

Re: R7000 Wrong Date/Time after firmware update
Thanks ElaineM.
I've now installed that beta firmware. It's currently showing 1st Jan 2005 again but there's nothing in the logs about time check so I'll give it a day or so and see if it picks up the correct date. If not, I have an older version of the firmware from a year ago, which worked fine then.

Re: R7000 Wrong Date/Time after firmware update
Don't forget to reset after loading the new beta firmware.
I am currently using the beta and it's showing the correct date on mine.

Re: R7000 Wrong Date/Time after firmware update
I have the same poblem and reset dosen't help. It started when I switched from Comcast to ATT gigiaPower. I have R7000 and R8000 and same issue on both and posted in troubleshooting forum and no fix yet. There is no manaul way to set the time in router. After reboot Router time goes back to Jan 1, 2015 for R8000. This makes router bandwith meter and also security / schedule to block servies useless. Router use to work fine behind comcast modem. If I switch router to AP mode from route moder it sync time fine. Switch back to router mode no time sync. Firwall is off on Uverse modem so it is not that. This is in logs on startup. Looks like a delay of 1 second to connect to internet. If you get [Internet disconnected] Thursday, Jan 01,2015 00:00:21 that means router will never update time after that.

I tried all the options given on different forums but no luck. Netgear support gave me beta V1.0.5.49_20151208_timesync firmware which fixed the issue.

Re: R7000 Wrong Date/Time after firmware update
I reset my router via the web interface but should I do it instead manually via the little hole on the back? I restored settings from the back up I made. Would it be better if I make a note of everything instead and re-enter them all? (Didn't do it that way as with all the things on our home netwrok having reserved addresses it would have been rather time-consuming.)
My R7000 is connected to the internet via a BT Openreach fibre broadband modem, supplied by my ISP (the free router they sent to plug into it wasn't very good so I bought myself the R7000). I'm pretty sure it was getting the time OK till the latest firmware update v1.0.6 etc late last year.

Yes! I would like to try the timesync version of the firmware too. Sounds like it would fix the issue!

Re: R7000 Wrong Date/Time after firmware update
I did open a ticket but because I've had my R7000 for more than the 90 days of free support (bought it Summer 2014), they closed it. I can't go for the telephone support option as I'm in the UK and it would be too costly to ring the USA.

Re: R7000 Wrong Date/Time after firmware update
Further to my previous reply, I've found the UK support number but see how much it costs per incident. As this problem was caused by me updating my router via its web interface, where it was telling me that new firmware was available (which, incidentally, isn't now on the download page for the R7000) I don't see why I should pay! I'll just have to wait till the release version is available.
