R7900P stops working
Began having streaming issues last night. This morning the internet and wifi would drop out. Works for a while after rebooting then craps out. Have tried rebooting, power cycling, hard power cycling, and even a new system setup. It's not the modem since it's currently hardlined into my computer working no problem.
Is it time for a new router or can I fix it?

Not a very useful description of anything.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read. Look for the
LED descriptions and "Troubleshoot"?

What, exactly, is your (unspecified) "the modem"?

Instead of the router? In addition to the router? What, exactly, is
connected to what, exactly?

Re: R7900P stops working
I can't tell from your description if the router is dropping the wifi only or is the whole thing including hardwire dieing. My router was dropping the wifi every few minutes (or less!!!). While it came back quickly, the lack of continuity made connecting and reconnecting smart devices difficult. I tried lots of stuff such as ensuring I have the latest update, moving to uncluttered channels, changing Fragmentation Length and CTS/RTS Threshold, trying to prevent IP address conflicts by reserving addresses, etc. What seems to have fixed it is turning off Smart Connect. Apparently, its not too smart.and even disrupts the Guest wifi.
A serious firmware update is needed to fix it.
