Resetting Nighthawk password
I moved into a new house and all the wifi extenders are hooked up to the existing Nighthawk router. Unfortunately, I don't have the password and prefer not to buy a new one. Does anyone know how to reset a password on a router without being able to log into it? thanks for your help

Re: Resetting Nighthawk password
Sure. Factory reset it.
push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered on.
that'll get it back to the defaults.
default login: admin
default password: password
Then simply install it with what ssid/password you'd like .

Look for "Model" on the product label.

The non-psychics in your audience might not be able to identify your
equipment, guess what's connected to what, or guess what you're doing,
or guess what happens when you do it.
"didn't work" is not a useful problem description. It does not say
what you did. It does not say what happened when you did it. As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

Did you consider trying this radical concept (which works for some
people):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RTFM
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read.
Look for topics like "Types of Logins", "Basic Wireless Settings", and
"Reset". Further reading might not hurt, either.
Peppering this forum with information-free questions might be much
less efficient (for everyone) than simply reading the product
documentation.
