thats a gateway/router combo device. Meaning its needed to connect to your frontier setup as a modem at minimum.
You can put it in bridging mode or IP passthrough mode.
that sets it up as a modem only device. Then you'd simply connect the R9000 to it and set it up as normal.
Or you can contact frontier to see if they have any modem only devices or whats compatible with their service for modem only devices.

What frontier router is it?
If its a simple router, it shouldn't be hard.
But if its a gateway/router device, then you might not be able to.
