Not much to go on there.
What Netgear devices is this?
What firmware version do you have on the device?
A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.
It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.
Apologies for all the questions. But you can help people to help you by providing the information suggested in this forum's header:
Subject (Include model number and brief summary)
Model (Recommended - Helps the community give the best answers)
Body (Include additional detail including model version, firmware, OS and environment where relevant.)
They are there for a good reason.
What data usage are you looking for?

Re: Usage is not avaliable at this time, trying to open a case but cannot register product
Its a wireless modem, MR5100 from telstra,
Firmware version: NTGX55_12.04.12.00
My FSN is saying it is invalid to register.
I am wanting to to see my data usage on the screen which it is not doing anymore instead just saying "data usage info unavailable at this time" which it has been doing for a couple of months now. Been in contact with Telstra and they said to get in contact with net gear but since I cannot register my product I can't get onto tech support

Well, that deals with one of the many questions Netgear asks.
Not your standard device then. You are trying to check you data use on that? Nothing else on the network? No other router?
If this is the Netgear MR5100 it is a mobile modem/router, you might get more help in the appropriate section.
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
Mobile Routers, Hotspots & Modems
Those things are very different from the standard Netgear routers covered in this section.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check for various troubleshooting tips.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
