WINDOWS 10 reports NO INTERNET but there is

Using my new R7900 with Windows 10, firmware v1.1.0.4, NO INTERNET is reported but there is.  I can use all browsers and surf anywhere, with either wi-fi or Ethernet. Both report NO INTERNET.  Microsoft spent 4 hours remotely this morning and said the problem HAD to be in the router because all the Windows were working correctly.?? I did update the firmware as per instructions included with router..

What am I doing wrong?

Ok I had the same problem I do not own your router But Go to the Properties of your NIC's then go to  Configure of all your NIC's and make sure if you have it, a Power management tab, go under this tab and  turn off all power management stuff  Like Respond to ARP Requs, Respond to NS Requs, Ect. turn  off All Power saving options also turn off all wake on lan I own a Netgear WNDR4500 as a WAP. This fixed the probmel  WIn10 has been doing some fishy stuff when it comes to updates turning porwer and privcy options back on after a update.. Thinks Windowns. Hopefully this fixs your problem. this is for win 10/8.1 os

Re: WINDOWS 10 reports NO INTERNET but there is

Well for starters, what firmware are you running?

How did you determine you DO NOT have an Internet connection?

In a COMMAND PROMPT please enter IPCONFIG /ALL and copy and paste the results here.

Did you use a BROWSER to view the router? If so, what IP Address did you enter into the Browser's URL?

Take a screen shot of the INTERNET tab and post here please.

If it is a CONNECTIOD STATUS in W10 showing you not Internet connected ARE you looking at the right device? Some PC's have both a wired and wireless device. There are two lines on the Connectiod as well, 1 for IPV4 and the other for IPV6. If one is not enabled it will show NO INTERNET ACCESS:

It will take some time for the screen capture to appear, but you DO have a connection, copied from your IPCONFIG output:

Your Ethernet Adapter IS NOT connected though. You are using your WIRELESS connection.

Use the browser and put in 192.168.1.1, then enter admin and password for the ID and P/W and look at the connected devices.

Re: WINDOWS 10 reports NO INTERNET but there is

BTW, my PC has both a wired and wireless capability. I've disabled the WIRELESS:

Capture.JPG

Once I enable it (but do NOT connect it) but do not connect it it shows not connected:

Capture1.JPG

You appear to have the opposite situation, no wired connection but wireless is connected. Suggest you DISABLE the NETWORK WIRED CARD.

Yes, it will take a few hours to see the screenshots I posted. They are from the ADVANCED NETWORK CONNECTIONS.

Re: WINDOWS 10 reports NO INTERNET but there is

I only hooked the Ethernet cable because Microsoft support wanted to see if that would correct the problem, it didn;t, so I removed it.

I guess I will hook up my old router to see if that fixes it, if it does, I will take this one back to Costco.

Thanks for your help.

But YOU do have the WIRELESS device on the PC hooked to the ROUTER!

I don't understand your problem it seems.

Would you mind restating your problem? I assume you mean the 5G connection showing NO INTERNET??? If that is IT, then disable your FIREWALL and/or ANTI-VIRUS, that could be the cause. They need to be set to TRUST the network.

I just found something, similar to what you have, http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/601102/windows-10-wifi-connects-but-no-internet-access-no-i... and from it (HShooter):

==================

Posted 14 April 2016 - 10:10 PM

I had the exact same problems where it would be connected but no internet access.

Similar options for me:

802.11 channel width for 2.4GHz connection - options auto/20MHz.

802.11 channel width for 5GHz connection - options auto/20MHz

For me it only works when BOTH of those settings are turned to 20MHz.

My network card is a Intel Dual-Band AC3160. It should be able to support 40MHz on both bands, so I don't really like having to stay at 20MHz.

I tried checking out the router to see if it's broadcasting 2.4 or 5 GHz wifi but since I'm in Korea now and the router makes absolutely no sense, I didn't figure out a thing :)

Any other fixes that would make me able to go back to auto/mixed 20&40?

========================

See if that helps? There are a few other solutions on that link as well.

Others to check:

Google "windows 10 no internet secured wifi but can access the internet" and you'll see many with this problem and a few different solutions to try.
