prot forwarding
I am not sure the model number is absolutely correct. An R9000 Nighthawk X10.
I am trying to get a couple of devices port forwarded out to the internet, accessibe to anyone.
1. acess the router web application
2. setup static IP on the device
3. advanced setup port forwarding
create custom service for static ip device port 80 http server tcp/udp
4. check port forwarding online says the internet IP address assigned from ISP over port 80 closed.
I have checked uPnP on off up down
ihave disconnected the usb ready share
I have rebooted the router
I have noticed that remote management is not on and has a different port
I have searched the network for another router
I am a loss why I can not port forwad from the Netgear router

That's a little vague. Also, "port forwarding" is best thought of as
the special handling used for an _incoming_ message, _from_ the
Internet.

Do you mean Address Reservation?
Terminology: A "static" address is configured on the device itself.
What you configure on a (DHCP server on a) router is a reserved dynamic
address, not a static address. Either one should fix the address of a
device, but some implications are different.

Again, a little short on details.
