Our upload and download speeds are generally running near 300MBPS for both upload and download speeds. However, we run into periods where the connection slows to a crawl. This happens on all of our wireless devices but it is really noticeable on our Vizio smart TV when the screen just freezes in the middle of watching a show. We don't have any problems streaming on the 2 computers that are wired into the router. On the admin page it shows there is a 2ghz connection and a 5g connection and it looks like all the devices are connected to the 2ghz. Is it possible to connect to the 5g?

If you disable smart connect on the router, then you can change the name of the 5ghz band and force streaming devices to connect to it.
What firmware is on the router?
What modem/gateway is it connected to.
