MR60/MS60 speedtest not working on latest firmware V1.1.6.122_2.0.58

Speedtest through both the Nighthawk App and Web UI do not work.  the App registers 0.00 and the webUI says "The Speedtest failed to detect the bandwidth, please check your Internet connection or try again later."  I have done factory reset of the the devices and it still does not work.  Please advise -- the last time this worked was ~ 12/20/21

Well, Speedtest randomly started working again on it's own.  The firmware version is the same and no other changes were made, so I guess there must have been something on the service side, though short of an API change, I can't imagine what.  In any case, the issue is resolved.

Unless you wnat to revert back to something prior. Thats up to you. If the system is working other wise then leave it and wait for NG to fix all this. They need too look into this. Nothing else we can do here. No idea when a fix will be coming so don't ask. Just keep looking at NG download page or here in the forums once in a while to check. I try to post new FW notices when NG releases them.

Considering that the issue first appeared on the .116 version, but only since December, how far back do you suggest I go?  Further, as far as I can tell, the issue was not apparent when I first upgraded to the .116 version, but only appeared in the last month or so, can we even be sure it's the result of a firmware change and not the result of some change, like dropping a deprecated API call, that Speedtest made recently that wasn't applied to this firmware?

What modem/gateway is it connected to?

Is everything else working fine?

Modem/Gateway: Nokia Gateway 3 model G-240W-E

All else seems to be fully operational -- no changes to my setup or config.  Last known time this worked was ~12/20/21 (last time I ran it with success) -- haven't tried since that date until recently.

Re: MR60/MS60 speedtest not working on latest firmware V1.1.6.122_2.0.58

This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers

https://kb.netgear.com/24086/How-do-I-set-up-a-default-DMZ-server-on-my-Nighthawk-router
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.

I have the exact same issue.  Did a factory reset, restored to version 1.1.6.116 and no difference.  I use a standard modem, so can't be a double NAT.

What happens if you put the ISP modem back to router mode and configured the MR for AP mode?

Re: MR60/MS60 speedtest not working on latest firmware V1.1.6.122_2.0.58

I'm also seeing this issue, and I also saw it before updating to the 1.1.6.122_2.0.58 firmware version.  My fiber connection is connected directly to the router, so there's no modem in the way and no chance of double NAT.  This worked as recently as November or December, but has not worked at all in the past couple of weeks.  Everything else appears to be working fine, and I can successfully run Speedtest through the app on client devices, I just can't run it from the MR60's admin UI. Since it's tied into my QoS, I'd love to find a solution here.

I'm having the exact same problem.  This is obviously a firmware/Netgear issue that needs to get fixed.

Re: MR60/MS60 speedtest not working on latest firmware V1.1.6.122_2.0.58

Did you factory reset the MR and setup from scratch after loading v122?

Users are seeing lots of problems with v122 and were not recommending user use it. Seems to be causing more problems than expected. So if your running into problems you may need to downgrade FW on the MS first, then MR lastly to sonething prior.

Re: MR60/MS60 speedtest not working on latest firmware V1.1.6.122_2.0.58

IF the speed test is working on client side tests and no on the MRs web page, I'd either let it go for now and wait for NG to fix current version of FW or revert back to something that had worked before. NG will need to fix all of this.

Ya seen it where there were issues on the NG service side of things.

Glad its working now. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
