My R8500 can only successfully install 20150905_1.0.0.28_1.0.15.chk without wl driver so no wifi
Firmware update or change of ip address or any restart of R8500 will be bricked.
Hardware version: R8500 MP1
This is the log file

Sounds like it might be time to toss in bin and get another router. Log seems to indicate the firmware cannot find the wifi chip to load the firmware as I read it.
From all the firmware issues Netgear is having I would suggest some other vendor. Before some one jumps in, yes I know all vendors have firmware issues. However they seem able to fix, not have same issues for over a year that are basic to router operation.
I personally gave up on NG and moved on.
