Hello, I have a RAX48 and all the lights are on but cannot access the internet at all. Is there a solution to this? Factory reset maybe? I called my ISP and their service is up and running. Thanks!
What is the brand name and model number of the upstream modem/gateway/ONT that is connected upstream of your RAX48? (look on the label)
When you say "cannot access the internet", with what type of device? How is it connected to the router? What are the error messages?
Can you connect a computer direct to the unnamed ISP device with an Ethernet cable to confirm the internet service is available?

What do the lights look like? The colour?
The first thing to try is a network reboot.
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
- Turn off and unplug modem.
- Turn off router and computers.
- Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on computers and rest of network.
For more detailed troubleshooting, start with the usual boilerplate questions.
What firmware version do you have on the device?
A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.
It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The make and model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

Re: RAX48 internet dead
So if you factory reset and setup from scratch and this time do not change the DNS settings on the router, does the router work for a good while?

Hello, I tried doing a factory reset and that worked for a bit now it’s back to what it was. I also tried changing the dns settings to google primary and secondary. I am still getting this error when I try to open google: This site can’t be reached. Googles dns address could not be found. DNS probe started

So my setup is I have a bridged technicolor modem from my isp and then I have this router connected to the bridged technicolor modem.
What is that modem? Did you put it into "bridge mode" – a label that is widely abused and misunderstood – or is it something that the ISP was supposed to do?

Re: RAX48 internet dead
Also I don’t know what the modem is called but my isp calls it a technicolor modem and it is provided by the isp. They put it in bridge mode not me, because I have my own router which is the one that is having issues.
