Issue to have ORBI app detecting my installed ORBI network
Hello Community,
** As requested, I'm opening a dedicated thread for my issue **
I have an issue to have ORBI app detecting my installed ORBI network.
My ORBI network is working just fine. I have access to the web console of the routeur using a web browser.
But, when installing the Android ORBI app, the installation of the app works fine but not the setup.
I'm stopped at an early step when the app tries to detect the ORBI network.
It ends up with the error saying that my ORBI network cannot be detected.
Except that I'm connected to the ORBI network and having acces to Internet.
Here are some further information :
- Installed firmware = NETGEAR Orbi 2.12.6.1824
- Smartphone used = Google Pixel 5
- There's no other ORBI network around.
- I unactivated mobile data on the smartphone to be sure to used ONLY Orbi WiFi LAN connection.
- Connection to web admin interface works just fine.
- ORBI routeur (RBR750) is connected to my ISP box. ISP box has its own IP range and ORBI router is declared in DMZ on the ISP box. Then, ORBI router has its own IP range.
Any idea ? Thanks.
Kind regards,

Re: Issue to have ORBI app detecting my installed ORBI network
Just for the record, I first posted the issue on ORBI router forum side and no solution could be found.
I was said to post in the ORBI App forum to be contacted by an admin.
Thanks.

What ISP box is it?
I've seen a lot of poorly coded ISP boxes that cause issues.
Sometimes the DMZ option works.
Sometimes you have to put put the gateway box into passthrough/modem only mode.
and other times, you have to use the ISP box in router mode and put the netgear into access point mode.

- Smartphone used = Google Pixel 5 < Try a different mobile device to compare operation with Orbi app?

Re: Issue to have ORBI app detecting my installed ORBI network
Hi all,
I started everything from scratch again.
Router + satelitte reset.
Reinstallation using ORBI app.
Works fine on initial setup.
Until I change the LAN IP range (replacing the default one by a new one).
Since then, ORBI app is not working anymore, saying that ORBI network cannot be found.
I saw some post on PlayStore saying that since last app update, other people have the same issue.
Therefore I definitely do believe that the issue comes from the app itself.
Waiting for new app update to resolve the issue ...

If changing the IP range is whats associated with it having issues, then why not leave it the default ip range?
What modem/gateway is the router connected to?

Re: Issue to have ORBI app detecting my installed ORBI network
Hi,
🙂 Of course I could keep the default one (as a workaround) but this is not what I want at the end.
And it worked for months without the default IP range.
The ORBI router is connected to the ISP (Orange fiber 1 GB) box. Configured in the DMZ.
