I had the same symptoms as the original poster. Got the Orbi RBR750 set up, then upgraded Spectrum service from 200Mbps to 400Mbps, involving receiving a new modem. I was able to get everything working again, except for the router's speedtest. (Orbi Android App v2.7.2.1371) Begrudgingly I followed the advice and factory reset my RBR750 yet again. (I also uninstalled and reinstalled the Android Orbi app) Now, things are working again and I can do a speedtest in the Orbi app from my router.

Christian- Are you a netgear employee??? I’ve been using the mesh since July- this has been a sporadic yet continual issue for me... After many resets, reinstalls, and flat out Terry’s it appears to work for awhile then not again... It’s now in another period of not working, This is getting quite old...after spending the kind of $$$ I did on this after reading all the various reviews and talking to all the tech heads I did - boy I’m sure disappointed. Given all the complaints I’ve been reading here disappointed netgear hasn’t come out with a more solid patch. How can this be remedied?? Running the admin on ios
Just installed mine this weekend. Initially, the Speedtest did work on my IOS app on iphone 12 pro but eventually i started to get the Connection Failed error. Tried the reboot and then reset per Netgear but to no avail.
From your computer or browser you can try to login to orbilogin.com then go to Advanced tab > Setup > Speed Test
It works there so it seems that the issue is with the Orbi app on IOS.

I have been trying since Nov 2020 to get service and this issue fixed. I have been promised time and time again we will call in 24-48 hours. Even as far as to arrange an exact time frame to WAIT by the phone for a call. If it would have come I would not be writing this.
So almost 70 plus hours on HOLD waiting for service. Case after case closed and a new one opened to track the same issue.
In the belong run, which this has been, I too am MOVING AWAY from Netgear due to lack to service.

Wait for it, I have had that Firmware for a month or better and it worked, then it did not, same a prior and still has no come back, Speed issues are still the same and well Support has still not called after asking me to wait by the phone.
To be honest I have written off the 699 I paid for it and moved on.
