Not sure what is EOL on the webpage for SXK50
Orbi Pro SXK50 | WiFi 6 System | NETGEAR Support
On the above page it shows that "This product/software is end-of-life."
Not sure if this is referring to the hardware or software (Insight Premium Subscription).
Could someone please confirm?
Thanks,
Theo

This means the device can no longer be ordered new from the factory 8-)
Yes, extremely poor unlucky information on the product life cycle in general - leaving to wrong assumptions and false actions.

Really surprised on the EOL for it. It was just released in 2022.

Re: Not sure what is EOL on the webpage for SXK50
EOL is when the factories are no longer abvle to manufacture an SKU, for example because some key components are not easy replaceable, or wores .. no longer available in the market.
Still, I really I don't appreciate hat Netgear still fails to publish inbdustry-standard product-life-cycle information in time. This includes the inability for maintaining making the LoV available along with the firmware and the many documentations (QSG, UG, ...).

Re: Not sure what is EOL on the webpage for SXK50
Dang, I just looked through the EOL list for the business products, and the whole 30 through 80 series is EOL.
https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/netgear/pdfs/EOL.pdf
Surprises me since it's still in retail channels. (not Netgear)
Netgear pulled all their business Orbi Pro devices from their site as well.
https://www.netgear.com/business/wifi/mesh/
Looks pretty empty.
Guess I'll have to stop recommending those devices. That is a bummer as I really liked recommending them for those businesses who were self-managed and just needed a little extra coverage and features. I'm not quite familiar enough with the Insight-managed mesh features to recommend them to newbies.

Re: Not sure what is EOL on the webpage for SXK50
OK, so it's EOL. What does that mean? The page says that 5 yrs of NETGEAR Insight Premium Subscription is Included and just below mentions EOL.
Again, what does that really mean? Product is released in 2022 and EOL in 2024? How about firmware upgrades, addressing security issues?
I just don't get it. Seems like a policy that some no-name electronics manufacturer would do. I sent in the question to support and am waiting for a response. Held off on purchasing a set because of this question.

Re: Not sure what is EOL on the webpage for SXK50
EoL in Netgear terms (not mine) is that we can't order these devices from the factory anymore. EoL does not mean you can no longer operate these devices, and they ned to be replaced. Maintenance, support, and security updates continue to be available.

Re: Not sure what is EOL on the webpage for SXK50
Hello @Theok,
And welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂
End of Life means the device will no longer be available over the market but does not mean your warranty for hardware and support will be forfeited. Warranty starts the time you purchase and register the product. Usually for an Orbi Pro, it has a 5-year hardware warranty. Units that has been proven defective can be replaced with the same device from support within the duration of the 5-year hardware warranty. However there are different types of support warranty. Netgear gives a phone support warranty for only 90 days but should have the same duration of email or chat support warranty from how long your hardware warranty is. If there are issues on the software or firmware, more likely a patch firmware will be released after Engineering investigation even if the device is EOL. And if the issue is with security vulnerabilities, you may want to report it at Netgear security on the link below. You may want to earn extra income out of reporting a vulnerability on your Netgear device.
