SXK/SXS30 connected devices - doesnt show all connected devices (error report)

I have an #SXR30 (Orbi Pro mini) with one #SXS30 satellite using a wired backhaul.  There is one computer connected to the SXKS30 with an ethernet cable and it's running at full speed (500/500).

The SXS30 shows the computer connected (wired) on its user interface and that computer receives the correct static IP address I set in the SXR30.

THE ISSUE: That computer does NOT show in the list of connected devices on the SXR30.  Wireless devices connected to the SXS30 show correctly on the SXR30....it's just the wired device that does not show ... and there is no way to know if it's active or connected looking at the router connected devices list.

Does it show up if you log into the SRS30's gui? It should show connected devices there.

yes...it shows as wired on the satellite.....but it should also show on the router just as the wireless devices on the satellite show on the router.  It's a design issue....one should not have to go to each satellite to see all of the devices on the network....especially since the wired devices on the satellite get their addresses (including static addresses) from the router.

You're correct. I wasn't trying to argue that part. Was just curious if the satellite was showing them connected.

What firmware is on the router and the satellite?

What modem/gateway is the router connected to?

4.2.3.102 on both connected to FOX222 Frontier ONT.    For completeness, everything is running over MOCA 2.5 adapters on existing coax which works flawlessly using the Frontier provided NVG468mq

So you've got the SXR connected to the NVG (the fontier gateway). And then you're using the NVG's moca adapters to connect the satellites?
If so, that'd be your issue.

Right now, you'r using 2 routers and are in a double nat.

The satellites should be connected to the SXR's lan port. If its connected back through the NVG router, its not going to show up properly as its not setup in the correct fashion.

Options? If its working fine other than not displaying correctly, you could leave it.

Otherwise if you're wanting hardwired backhaul, you'd need to go

NVG--->SXR wan port---->SXRlan ports----->satellites

and you wouldn't be able to use the moca capability of the nvg.

You'd have to use ethernet.

Or you could use the wireless backhaul capability of the satellites (which would be slower than hardwired).

You're a little caught because of your cascading routers with the satellites behind the nvg and not the SXR

no.  The sxk30 replaces the Frontier router.....there is no cascading.  just the Netgear connected to the ONT.

What are you using for an ONT and for the moca adapters?

Glad to hear it wasn't the device but can you go over what error it was specifically?
Might help someone else with this issue
