SXR80 - Block Adult Content

Hi

I have a SXR80 Orbi Pro, with insights sub and 2 satellite SXS80 routers.

Is there anyway i can block all adult content?

I clicked through all the settings and couldnt find this feature or some sort of control

There is "block Sites\Keywords" but how is this feasible to input millions of sites? also you cannot upload a bulk list?

what options do i have?

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Re: SXR80 - Block Adult Content

One relatively simple way is to switch to a DNS server that blocks adult content. Cloudflare has this, for example:

https://one.one.one.one/family/

On the SXR80 web GUI, go to Advanced > Setup > Internet Setup and manually enter the DNS address.

Brilliant, this worked a treat...

if any one posts something similar that netgear provide, I'll give that a go but seems like cloudflare is superior so will keep this for now.

Thanks

Re: SXR80 - Block Adult Content

I've seen users use a pihole with this as a bonus feature. I've use a pihole for years and plan on using this when my kids get older. Of course there's ways around it but when they start figuring those out, then we'll have to have a conversation on healthy usage. Plus if you're using your pihole as DHCP, you can identify which device is submitting those requests easily.

One can check into some 3rd party DNS services, ones like Cloudfare, OpenDNS or NextDNS may have some blocking services.
