SXR80 and SXS80 ethernet backhaul via 1Gb hub/switch not working
Hello,
I am unable to connect SXR80 and SXS80 via 1Gb ethernet hub.
topology:
( cellar: modem)->(other room: router)->(cellar:hub)->(yet other room: satellite)
When connected directly it works, but such setup is useless for us as we have fiber connection in other room and only 2 ethernet cables going from modem/to the hub which handles other wired devices. Building is made of stone so wireless backhaul connection speed is way too low (sub 200Mb) and ping went up from sub 1ms to 5-10ms.
Is there anything that could fix it except buying another satellite to avoid back cable to the hub/modem box? This seems to be such basic requirement and I cannot believe developrs do not realize that backhaul via hub is essential functionality.
Thanks

Re: SXR80 and SXS80 ethernet backhaul via 1Gb hub/switch not working
I just noticed https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-Pro-WiFi-for-Small-Business/Issues-with-Orbi-Pro-SXR80-and-SXS...
First thing after unpacking was to flash to the latest latest fw I believe (V3.2.5.10) but did not factory-reset after flashing. Is it required?

Could you please let us know the model of hub that you are using?

Re: SXR80 and SXS80 ethernet backhaul via 1Gb hub/switch not working
Certainly, tried two:
1. old 1Gb no-name (Level-one) hub (that supports jumbo frames though)
2. TP-Link AC1750

Can anything be done?
Otherwise will have to return the set and look for alternatives..

We dont have any known issue. I am not sure your (cellar:hub). Did you check with any other switch?

Re: SXR80 and SXS80 ethernet backhaul via 1Gb hub/switch not working
I checked with two already that are proven to work with stable 1Gb links.
Even now these are shown to be wired - what's peculiar - via satellite, even both router and satellite are connected via the same hub.

Re: SXR80 and SXS80 ethernet backhaul via 1Gb hub/switch not working
Hello Raghu,
I poked into the logs and could not see any activation of the ethernet ports so I reconnected all the cables over the weekend and indeed the satellite started to show on the wired section as well!
Hard to think that I made a mistake somewhere but looks like it was the case, so big thanks for the follow up, your time helping was very much appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris
