Heavy CRC issues in the network

Hi there,

in my network I use a DrayTek Vigor 130 and a Ubiquiti UniFi Security Gateway to connect to the internet. My ISP is Deutsche Telekom (German Telekom). After the Security Gateway a JGS524Ev2 is connected to give route the traffic through the whole house.

When I download a large file, like 500MB, 1GB or whatever I experience heavy issues since all downloaded files are useless. CRC-Errors everywhere. Although the Netgear web UI says there would be no CRC-errors I don't trust it.

Today a technical support guy from the ISP was here to check all the network - the modem and router are fine. Also the connection to the ISP is clean. Now by last hope is the switch. Do you know smiliar issues?

The firmware is the latest (today: 01.04.2019).

Thanks in advance

Re: Heavy CRC issues in the network

Assuming the cabling is good, no potentially unsupported (by some peers) Jumbo Frames active, the switch might be on the way out.

Give a try to factory reset.

Re-flash the current firmware - JGS524PE / JGS524Ev2 Firmware Version 2.6.0.24 (that's a version number - 1 April is just fools day, useless information for the future reader).

Give a try to factory reset, and re-configure.

Indeed it was broken. Just bought „real“ enterprise hardware and it worked out of the box.
