From RAIDiator to OS6 Wiki, procedure, manual?

Been digging around but not with much luck. It is my understanding that drive upgrades work better if I was to upgrade to OS6. I found OS6 for Intel and downloaded that. I am backing up my server's data now. I would like to add in some bigger drives and re-launch as OS6. Have 6X2TB. For now I will change two of them to 3TB and will add 4TB later.
Seems if I swap out the drives, the NAS isn't going to come back up normally, and it won't be able to see jump drive or something with the new firmware. As you can see, I am clueless on this. Please help lead this lost lamb.
Thanks!

Wow....I know that wasn't what I found...the steps I found had me download:
PREP4TOR6_0.1-x86
R4toR6_6.5.0
ReadyNASOS-6.5.0-x86_64
I was going to try and find that message string again as I had the files but lost the link to where it told me what to do with them. I remember it being a long, closed string.
You probably found this post: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/OS6-now-works-on-x86-Legacy-WARNING-NO-NTGR-SUP...
It provides two methods - it looks like you grabbed onto the first one, not the second one (which I reposted here). mdgm generally updates the R4toR6 downloads, and they almost always include the current release (no matter what the name of the download says).

Re: From RAIDiator to OS6 Wiki, procedure, manual?
The instructions are here, but buried in a massive thread.
OS6 in 3 Steps:
1. Download R4toR6_latest.bin
2. Upgrade firmware in Frontview 4.2 (with above file)
3. Reboot & factory default via boot menu
Note that this won't work on the ReadyNAS NVX (it has a 32 bit processor, and OS6 requires 64).

If it is that simple, that is great.
Wanted you to know that due to the quality and availability of assistance here that I made my next purchase, a gigabit router we talked about in the other string, a JGS516PE. Am hoping it will play well with the NAS, give me PoE support, and bump me up from 100 to 1000. I am STILL backing up my NAS...at this pace, two more days. Was hoping to have the switch here in two days, now they are saying 6/23.....oh well....
Thanks for everything!

Re: From RAIDiator to OS6 Wiki, procedure, manual?
Suspect you are right.....I finally got everything backed up....made a collossal error. I had similar files on different drives so I used a program to merge them. In two cases the program somehow got flipped to a method that deleted what wasn't common instead of copying over wasn't common. Lost 800GB of hours of work...thousands of hours of work....
Anyway, the new switch got hung up in shipping. Actually had to cancel one order and place another order elsewhere and it won't arrive until Monday so I can't restore quicker until Monday. I am on the verge then of doing the actual upgrade....fingers crossed.
Thanks..

Re: From RAIDiator to OS6 Wiki, procedure, manual?
I used the suggested, simplified procedure. Ended up with multiple reboots before it was finally happy. If it would have mattered, should even the simplified process include a FW update as I did, i.e. 1.6 to 2? I hadn't thought about it until I stumbled upon it in a thread regarding CPU upgrade.
Thanks!
