4.2.20-T32 breaks frontview
I have a readynas ultra 2 plus.
after 4.2.19 and logitech corrupting my shares I did a factory reset and installed 4.2.20-T32, now I can't login to frontview, it hangs sometimes before and sometimes after I put in username/password.
any words of wisdom/advise from anyone?

Re: 4.2.20-T32 breaks frontview
chrome - hangs before I even get a prompt for password
ie - hangs after I type in password.
guess that difference is prob browser related though

Re: 4.2.20-T32 breaks frontview
ok I tried a OS re-install from boot menu button and forntview is back! yipee!
think I'll keep a close eye on it and restart a few times before i trust it with any data!
Any idea when the release version of 4.2.20 is coming?

A production 4.2.20 release will be made when it's ready.

Re: 4.2.20-T32 breaks frontview
7.7.1 for x86 NAS http://www.mysqueezebox.com/download
I did notice it put the share in the right place with 4.2.20-T32.....just the front page hanging problem
ok now installed LMS 7.7.1 under 4.2.20-T32, then OS-re-install to get back into frontview, then downgraded to firmware 4.2.19 again and restarted....all seems ok now touch wood with LMS share in correct place and no access problems with frontview

Re: 4.2.20-T32 breaks frontview
dont believe it! restarted again now to check and no frontview access! All I did was enable jumbo frames. Seems almost like I cant restart the machine and keep frontpage access. Only way is to do OS resinstall.

The Nightly build of LMS (http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.7) is compatible with 4.2.19

Re: 4.2.20-T32 breaks frontview
ok downloaded. Will try installing that and restarting a couple times just to check.
Has anyone else had this issue with the readynas ultra 2 plus hanging in relation to 4.2.19, 4.2.20-T32 and LMS 7.7.1? My point being that if not perhaps there is a problem with my hardware.

Re: 4.2.20-T32 breaks frontview
Note that with the nightly build add-on the squeezebox share has been replaced by a hidden share. Login to CIFS (i.e. \\ip.address.of.nas or \\hostname) as "admin", open the C share and if you have the option in Windows Explorer enabled to view hidden files and folders you'll see the share. If on Mac OS X there's a terminal command to enable viewing hidden files and folders.

Re: 4.2.20-T32 breaks frontview
well that is fine, I'd rather not see it. Usually the share was not shown anyway? Can't remember ever seeing a LMS share folder on my old Duo either.

Re: 4.2.20-T32 breaks frontview
If rebooting doesn't bring Frontview an OS re-install (http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_use_the_boot_menu) should.

Re: 4.2.20-T32 breaks frontview
yes I was able to get back into frontview by either: OS reinstall from boot menu or swapping to the other network port where jumbo frames was not enabled.
seems auto negotiation is not working.
If jumbo frames is off I can only set MTU up to 1500 and if I turn it on I cannot edit the value (9000 is default?), then if I reboot, no frontpage. My network adapter is set to 7K MTU witrh jumbo frames enabled (this is max value). Seems perhaps th readynas ultra is fixing the MTU to 9000 and not negotiating down to 7k. So either I have 9000 MTU or no jumbo frames. Right. Now I have 250 kb/s write speed to my ReadyNAS ultra 2 plus and 15MB/s to my old Duo. Seriously I'm getting grey hair here!
My readynas duo was easy....jumbo frames on, select max MTU...7348 or whatever it is, no problems.

Re: 4.2.20-T32 breaks frontview
perhaps I could try with a newer network card that supports 9k MTU?

Re: 4.2.20-T32 breaks frontview
That would be worth trying. A new NIC in your PC and make sure that the NIC drivers are up to date.
