To install: Click on appropriate link above for your system to download firmware image.
Then upload that image from the management UI's System->Settings->Update->Install Firmware section.

  1. [Beta 1] Fixed large file uploads to DropBox.
  2. [Beta 1] Added option to format external storage devices with BTRFS.
  3. [Beta 1] Improved ReadyCLOUD client connection stability.
  4. [Beta 1] Fixed kernel race condition that could lead to crashes, and a "mv_xor_status+88" message on LCD. (RN104)
  5. [Beta 1] Various security fixes (including CVE-2016-5387/httpoxy, CVE-2016-2119).
  6. [Beta 2] Fixed an issue where ReadyCLOUD downloads may fail immediately after updating.
  7. [Beta 2] Fixed a bug in the Kerberos library that could cause Active Directory connections to hang.
  8. [Beta 2] Changed SMB share access control to give rights assigned to individual users higher priority than group rights.
  9. [Beta 2] Fixed a SMB issue where Windows may report an "Element not found" error when browsing to the NAS where the passwords on the Windows account and the NAS account did not match.



  • Unless you are advised by NETGEAR Support in a support case to update to beta software, NETGEAR Support will deny support if you are running beta software. You can seek help here on the NETGEAR Community for issues encountered on the beta.
  • Devices updated with 6.5.1 firmware cannot be downgraded to versions of the firmware earlier than 6.5.0.
  • ReadyNAS 102, 104, and 2120 must not be updated directly from 6.3.0 - 6.3.4 to 6.5.x.  They must first be updated to either 6.2.x or 6.3.5.
