I'm betting they already know about that... the known issues says:

  • Several apps in the list are currently incompatible with ReadyNASOS 6.6.0.

I'm also betting that it is due to this that they have in the changelog:

     7. [Alpha 1] Updated OS core base (from Debian 7 to 8).

This is actually why I've held off on trying the Alpha so far... until I know that the apps I use will work with it.

Re: ReadyNASOS 6.6.0-T95 and Anti-Virus Plus

Is it possible to downgrade to 6.5.x from 6.6 with a complete reset etc? I see that it says that its not possible but perhaps thats via the normal interface?

I mistakenly upgraded to 6.6 and now some apps wont work. All data is safely backed up elsewhere so no issue to reset etc.

One would think a full reset on 6.5.x should work at least for x86_64 models such as the RN516 however YMMV. I don't think downgrades via the web admin interface are blocked yet (though I only tested this using the VM, it may be different on actual ReadyNAS hardware) so you should be able to install e.g. 6.5.2 Beta 2 and then once it comes back up on that do a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything).

Thanks for that. Sry for hi-jacking thread. Have reverted to 6.5.2 and performing factory default now.

All good, back to normal on 6.5.2
