Cannot Access ReadyCloud on IOS App
Hi All
Just got my readynas RN10400 (Has 4 x 2TB ) all setup, but the IOS app when on 3g/4g just says disconnected when i try and browse any folders, although on the home page it appears to say 'nas name' is online ? I'm confused, any help greatly appreciated. I just want to be able to access my stuff remotely.
It obviously connects fine when on local Wifi at home

Re: Cannot Access ReadyCloud on IOS App
Hi wbijb14
I had the same problem with Readycloud (IOS app and WIN app). I use two ios phones devices (5s&6) and with the old one any error occurres, but with the iPhone 6 sometime I find your problem.
Even with my new laptop Hp Spectre 360 (win10 64bit) I cannot reach the NAS with Readucloud app when I'm outside my wifi. So I'm using a VPN app installed on NAS in order to have a valid connection with my LAN when I'm away.
Best regards
Matteo

Re: Cannot Access ReadyCloud on IOS App
Hi wbljb14,
I'm using the VPN Server insalled on my NAS that I found on free apps for Readynas
https://apps.readynas.com/pages/?page_id=9
The version 1.5.0 works properly with L2TP,IKEv2,IPSec standard with IOS, MAC OSX win and Ubuntu.
You can manage it easly by a VPN Gui installed on desktop PC.

Re: Cannot Access ReadyCloud on IOS App
Mee too I spent a lot of time for first setup.
1.You have to open in your router ports udp 500 and 4500 directed to your NAS. I'm not using a ddns to identify my home.
2. Are you using a DDNS account?
By default the server VPN uses a DDns system to identify your router.
My vlan has a variable ip but it change only when power supply is down. So in my ios as server address I put directly the public ip of my router.
If you want to chose my setup you have to edit the config file and erase the lines about DDNS
You can find all info in VPN forum SoftEther
Good luck

Re: Cannot Access ReadyCloud on IOS App
Ok Getting futher , (I think)
I've opened up UDP ports 4500 & 500 to IP for NAS
I've amended the vpn_config as below from false to true (So DDNS is greyed out)
{
bool Disabled true
}
I'm using Public IP of my router as server in VPN setup on iPhone, the account is the username and password i've setup in Softether along with the secret.
but it still wont connect, I assume when i create the connection in VPN server i use localhost & port 443 ?
Thanks, sorry to keep asking questions

Re: Cannot Access ReadyCloud on IOS App
hi,
I think you forgot something.
I resume the steps:
Open ports
Set name&psw for user(s) of every client VPN (see img)
Set secret psw (see img )
Mee too I had a problem with 443 port. I use localhost to connect to server with my WIn PC
you have also to check that the server is "online" status.
After installation on "installed application" in admin configuration of NAS you have to check that VPN Server is ON (see img)
Good luck

Re: Cannot Access ReadyCloud on IOS App
Hi Thanks
I'll have to play around, but just to confirm settings are right:
Opened ports UDP 500 & 4500 on Router point to IP of NAS
In SoftEther client created one user with psw for user
Set secret psw/key
setup localhost on Port 443 (which Connects OK when testing in SoftEther Client)
Local Bridge i've created 2 for PC NIC & other for NAS NIC
VPN server is "ON" status, but greyed out under System
iPhone VPN Settings L2TP:
Server = Public IP of Router
User= name of account created above
psw = as above
Secret Key = as above
Many Thanks

Re: Cannot Access ReadyCloud on IOS App
Hi wbljb14.
I know very well this solution that I used a lot of time but after a few months the issue comes again.
So in order to have a stable connection with my home when I'm away I choosed the VPN Server.
I hope all is ok for you today, and I'm waithing for a new release of Readycloud (Win,MAC, IOS)
Have a nice day
Matteo

Re: Cannot Access ReadyCloud on IOS App
Hi wbljb14, since de-register and re-register with ReadyCLOUD solved the issue, can you mark this topic as resolved? Thank you.

Re: Cannot Access ReadyCloud on IOS App
After restarting the Cloud due to the March the 30rd catastrophe, I still had the same issue with my MAC and IOS applications: The iOS issue is solved by deletting and reinstalling the application, although I am afraid it forgot which images/videos were already backed-up and it is starting from zero, so I will have many repeated.
The MAC OS X issue is still there even after reinstallation of the app.
