No volumes or USB disks error message on readycloud

March 6, 2016

I've had the ReadyNas 102 for about 2 years.  Lately, I have not been able to access the device from ReadyCloud.

On the ReadyCloud web site i am able to view my files in the 'shares' tab.  I can do this only by using the URL 192.168.x.x.

when I use the Cloud tab I receive a green check mark and "Internet available" and next to it a RED X with "Services Offline".

When using the Readycloud website, the software sees the NAS device and when I double click on the device I receive the message:

NO VOLUMES or USB Disks.

I've tried Edge brower, Chrome, and IE.

what am I doing wrong?

thanks for your help.

I hired 'HoosierITGuy' to determine the issue.  after about a minute he decided that using a Proxy Server was the problem.  He unclicked proxy server, and now ReadyCloud works!

Services offline: Check your DNS on the network adapter. You should get this automatically from DHCP but have to enter manually after switching to static.

When it comes to talking about your volumes, what does your ReadyNAS say about your current volume health?

Hi thermalpro,

Welcome to the community!

Was this the same case if you will access the files while you're on your local network? Let us know what happens once you've added a static public DNS 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4.

Kind regards,

re-booted the NAS, I am still unable to use ReadyCloud.

"No volumes or usb disks"

is this the result of a bad firmware update?

Hi thermalpro,

Can you confirm if the same message comes up in the local admin page? Can you still access your files locally?

yes, I'm able to use 192.168.x.x on the local computer.  On the ReadyNas Admin page 'Cloud Tab'

green check for internet Available, RED X for Services offline.

Re: No volumes or USB disks error message on readycloud

Hi thermalpro,

It appears that the ReadyNAS services is not connecting to our server and that's why you cannot access your device or files through ReadyCLOUD. Could you check if your router or network blocks the ReadyNAS from contacting our server? Perhaps you can try port forwarding and see if it helps.

Kind regards,

thank you for your help in this matter.

Ok, I've added DNS 8.8.8.8

I've added port forward for port 6300 per your instructions.

and still I cannot access my files through ReadyCloud.

this should not be this difficult.  What the heck is going on?
