ReadyCloud on Windows 8.1

Hi!

I have problems to connect two of my computers, which both running windows 8.1, to the RN104 with ReadyCloud. It has worked before but I can´t tell if it was before or after the upgrade to 6.2.2. The ReadyCloud now says that I don´t have any registered or shared devices. If i go to the discovery tab, i find it, but can´t register it. On one of them i uninstalled the ReadyCloud app, and now I can´t find where to download it. I guess i first must be able to register the device.
I have tried with both IE and Chrome. I se the device in the file explorer.
I have a XP computer and on that all works fine 🙂 (good old XP...)

Re: ReadyCloud on Windows 8.1

I see it after I have pressed the backup button on NAS to start Discovery, otherwise not. After that I see, and can manage the device. But I cant register it...

Re: ReadyCloud on Windows 8.1

Alright, follow the instructions on these links:

http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22805

http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22815

once you're logged in to https://readycloud.netgear.com/client/index.html , download the readycloud software on the PC.

If this will not work, try opening port 6300 on your router and point it to the IP of the NAS

Re: ReadyCloud on Windows 8.1

I have opened port 6300 now (I think), but it seems that, if i cant register, i wont reach the download link.
I can still manage the NAS, but not register it in https://readycloud.netgear.com/client/index.html

Do you mean you can't log in to the https://readycloud.netgear.com/client/index.html ?

Re: ReadyCloud on Windows 8.1

I can log in to https://readycloud.netgear.com/client/index.html, and has "always" could. But i can´t register my device and for that reason (i think) every time i wake up the computer i must set the NAs i discovery mode, otherwise the https://readycloud.netgear.com/client/index.html dont find it. ReadyCloud client dont remember my NAS if i dont register it i guess.
It seems that opening port 6300 didnt help (if i did the right thing).

Re: ReadyCloud on Windows 8.1

Hello,

To download the app you only need to log in at the ReadyCLOUD website with a valid ReadyCLOUD account. No devices need to be registered with that account, so you could just create a new one or log in with an existing one.

More importantly, to register the device with ReadyCLOUD you should go to the local admin page and not the ReadyCLOUD website. The local admin page can be reached via RAIDar or by entering the NAS IP in the browser. There, head to the “Cloud” Tab and turn the toggle switch for ReadyCLOUD to “On”.

Re: ReadyCloud on Windows 8.1

Hi!

If I log in to ReadyCloud website, I dont get any possibility to download ReadyCloud App. As I remember it was there first after registering the device. I have tried both in Chrome and IE 11.
The ReadyCloud option is turned on, on the device. I run ReadyCloud appon android phone whitout problems, and as I wrote earlier, it has worked on my two Windows 8.1 computers before some update (maybe to 6.2, was on 6.0 earlier).

Re: ReadyCloud on Windows 8.1

Hi!

When I log in at the ReadyCloud website I see the start page with the dowload button just flashing up, then it says that i dont have any registered or shared device, but this is not true. I can´t reach the download button. It just shows for fractions of a second.

Re: ReadyCloud on Windows 8.1

Hello,

The behavior that you describe (download link available for a split second) is normal when no devices are connected to the ReadyCLOUD account used. So, we have to find out why no devices are found.

First thing to check are you IP settings. Did you configure your ReadyNAS to use a static IP address? If so, please verify that you also configured your DNS settings correctly. This gets messed up sometimes during a FW update. If you are having to make any changes please reboot your device.

Opening ports on your router should not be necessary.

Did you try connecting the device to a new ReadyCLOUD user account for a test?

Bye,

Re: ReadyCloud on Windows 8.1

Hi,

I tried to log in with my account (this Windows 8 computer is my wifes) and i had connection to NAS with ReadyCloud immideatly. If I look in NAS admin page I can´t see wy my wifes account doesn't work longer. It has worked before... Her account is added as a ReadyCloud user on NAS.
If I in ReadyCloud, logged in as my wife, search the device by serial number it finds the NAS without problem but I cant register it. It just open the admin page and there all information already are filled in. As I said earlier it has worked on this computer earlier.

Re: ReadyCloud on Windows 8.1

Hello,

Home with sick children so I had some time to struggle with this.
1: I deleted my wifes account in Readycloud
2: I removed the account from ReadyNas users
3: I made a new ReadyCloud account
4: I added this new account as a Cloud user
5: I shared the folders to this account
6: When I log in in ReadyCloud with this new account, ReadyCloud discover the NAS when I start discovery mode on NAS.
7: I can´t find where to register the device. The only button I have under Discover tab is Manage, which leads me to Admin page. And in Admin page it tells me to go to Ready Cloud... 😞

So conclusion. I still can´t register the NAS to my wifes ReadyCloud account!

Hope someone has suggestion how to solve this. My patience for this Netgear things is running low. And as i described earlier this worked befor the upgrade to 6.2
