Readycloud windows 10 App 1.16.1297.525
I have Windows 10 operating two computers. There was a recent Windows 10 update (July 2017) from Windows. I made the Windows 10 update to these two computers last week and the previous version of ReadyCLOUD for Backup and Sync on these two computers. The previous version of ReadyCLOUD (prior to 1.16.1297.525) was working just fine on the Windows 10 update.
Today, my ReadyCloud App said there was a new update (1.16.1297.525) and I proceed with the ReadyCLOUD App update, however, during the install process I got the following message on both computers:
"Error Opening file for writing"
"Program Files (x86)\NETGEAR\Remote\Bin\Incomservice.dll"
Now what do I do to get past this Error in Windows 10 and get the ReadyCLOUD to install on my two computers?

Re: Readycloud windows 10 App 1.16.1297.525
Just received and installed another Windows 10 update last night. After the Windows 10 update completed, I then reinstalled the new ReadyCLOUD update. The Windows 10 update appears to have solved the issue and allowed the ReadyCLOUD to install correctly. The new ReadyCLOUD works now.

Re: Readycloud windows 10 App 1.16.1297.525
This morning I was prompted to update Readycloud, and received the same error during the upgrade.
"Error opening file for writing Incomservice.dll"
With options to Abort Retry or Ignore.
Abort cancels the install, Retry fails with the same error, Ignore proceeds on with similar errors for
Incontrols.dll
- Inhttpservice.exe
- Inmodel.dll
- Inresources.dll
- Inreources.resources.dll
Windows 10 OS with a similar timeline
On the 9th August I Installed
Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool for Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, 2016 x64 Edition - August 2017 (KB890830)
2017-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4034674)
The difference here, is when checking for an update with Windows Update I am being told that my device is up to date.

Re: Readycloud windows 10 App 1.16.1297.525
OK figured it out, way simpler than expected.
Steps taken to resolve -
- Proceed through the installation clicking ignore for all the errors. - Note that the application will start and seems to be connected to my NAS as is showing the folders I would expect to see.
- Uninstall ReadyCloud using Apps and Features
- Reboot Windows
- Download the latest version of ReadyCloudSetup.exe (1.16.1297.525)
- Reinstall as Administrator
- Everything working as expected.
As an aside, I am a little worried that I didnt need to re-enter my credentials to connecto to my ReadyNas account. I would appear that something relating to my readynas account persisted on my computer after an uninstall of the application and an operating system reboot.

Re: Readycloud windows 10 App 1.16.1297.525
Hello David-YKS,
Would you please check "Stay signed in" option on sign in page?
If this option is enabled, Readycloud application would sign in with previous signed in account after PC start or unlock.
If you don't need this option, please disable it when sign in.
Best Regards.

Same problem. About to give the install/reinstall solution a try. Pity that the update software wasn't adequately tested before it was released..... 😞

Hello David,
I just mean that "you don't need to reenter your user ID or password after completed the readycloud update", maybe because you enabled "Stay signed in" option when logined in before you update the readycloud app.
If you don't need this option, you can disable it next login.
Best Regards.

Re: Readycloud windows 10 App 1.16.1297.525
Just coming back to this thread as I had to reinstall windows and came across this same problem again. I was suprised to find that the old version v1.8.1220 is still available for download - see the following link
http://www.netgear.com/support/product/ReadyNAS_OS_6.aspx#ReadyCLOUD Version 1.8.1220 (Windows)
I got to this page starting at http://www.netgear.com/support/ -> Typing Readynas into the search box -> Selecting the option for ReadyNAS OS 6
After downloading and installing I faced the same prompt to download v1.16.1297.525 with the same installation errors, and the same workaround described in my post above.
I also came across the same password being saved issue.
To clarify this. I uninstalled ReadyCloud v1.8.1220 from my computer and rebooted. After the reboot I installed v1.16.1297.525
Expected Behaviour: After uninstalling a piece of software any associated usernames and passwords should not persist on the machine.
Actual Behaviour: After uninstalling 1.8.1220, rebooting and installing 1.16.1297 I did not need to enter a username and password to connect to my device.

Re: Readycloud windows 10 App 1.16.1297.525
The latest version of the ReadyCloud app can be download once you login to the web portal, that previous version is just a reference for other users. I do agree with the with the expected behavior after uninstalling an app but normally you are advice to restart the computer after uninstalling to delete the cache of the computer.
