Ios app shows my 104 as "Connected (Readycloud)"
my 204 shows "Connected (VPN)
What is the meaning? Should both read VPN, or Readycloud, or does it matter?

You get better performance (and Netgear's costs are less) when you connect locally to the NAS and avoid the cloud servers. So the ReadyCloud apps and PC software try a local connection first, and then fail over to VPN if that doesn't connect.
The NAS itself needs to maintain a lightweight connection to the ReadyCloud server (through the VPN) even if your apps aren't using the cloud servers at the moment.
So this is normal behavior.
