ClamAV is not updating. Error 503
I am getting regular emails about my readynas' AV being out of date. I logged on and ran freshclam getting back

Seeing a few other examples I tried
host -t txt current.cvd.clamav.net current.cvd.clamav.net descriptive text "0.103.2:59:26168:1620826140:1:63:49192:333"
and it wasn't until I ran wget that I got somewhere

I tried from other sources. I don't know if this is something going on in my network or other people are having this problem. It is resolving and I am not seeing a firewall error. Best I can tell it is something on ClamAV's side and I don't think it is an unsupported version.
Hi @Sandshark,
We are still investigating why the AV database is still not updating for some users even after updating to 6.10.5.
For this particular case, L3 checked /var/lib/clamav and saw that daily.cld was still outdated. L3 needs to renew it so they removed the two files (daily.cld and mirrors.dat) then ran freshclam.
If the user is knowledgeable in Linux, they can try this, but it will be best if they can send the logs to me or @Marc_V so we can forward this to the appropriate team and they can further investigate the issue

Hi Idward,
May I know the model number of your ReadyNAS unit and the current firmware of it?
If the firmware is not yet on 6.10.5, you can try updating the firmware to it. The 6.10.5 firmware addressed an issue wherein the ClamAV fails to update the database. You can read the release notes here.

ReadyNAS 2304
Firmware 6.10.4 Hotfix 1.
I hit the check for updates and it gave me an "you are all up to date" message.

Hi Idward,
You can try manually updating the firmware to 6.10.5. You may download the firmware here: https://kb.netgear.com/000063642/ReadyNAS-OS-6-Software-Version-6-10-5.
