External Storage ReadNAS 314
I have a ReadyNAS 314 that I want to backup to an external HDD enclosure. The enclosure has a new 4TB hard drive in it. I connected it to my computer, created a new NTFS volume and formatted it. However, no matter what connection method I use on the ReadyNAS (USB or eSATA) the drive is never recognized by the ReadyNAS. To make sure it wasn't the NAS, I connected a thumb drive which it recognized without issue. When the external drive is plugged in, nothing registers in the logs either. Any ideas?

Re: External Storage ReadNAS 314
Hi @Someone-here , your external harddisk might not be compatible to the nas.
However, one thing I would try, anyways. Just blank the disk, which means, there should be nothing on it, not the slightest partition. Then connect it to your RN314. Go to the admin page and see, whether it is recognized. If yes, you will be able format it using the admin page.
Kind regards
