Manually installed?

If by manually you mean first installing Python then the Sabnzbd bin from the ReadyNas Pro admin web page then yes.

Re: SABnzbd++

No, I meant whether you tried to install Python and SABnzbd on your own. Anyway, this behavior seems to be caused by a bug in OpenSSL as you can read here.
Unfortunately there isn't much I can do about this other than installing a replacement openssl library with SABnzbd/Python. Since openssl is a crucial part of the system I'm quite reluctant to do so but rather would think a fix (if any is deemed necessary) has to come by way of a firmware update from Netgear. Now I'm fully aware that fixing problems with a third party add-on probably isn't on top of the todo list so my best advice for now is to restart SABnzbd frequently. I could also add a cron job to do just that to future releases if that would be ok as a workaround.

Too bad. I kinda liked the idea of running all my downloads straight from the NAS.
Anyway, I will go back to running it from my HTPC and wait for another more stable version.
Thanks for your support.

You know, when I reverted back to the HTPC i also had some weird behavior involving SSL. It disappeared only after i deleted all my old Sabnzbd certificates from IE8 and Firefox.
I am wondering if.....
P.S: What about the new issue of SabNzbd v.0.5.5?

Well, you know, a day has just 24 hours and even if I'd add the night ... in short: when time permits 😉

Of course. But what do you think about SSL?
Maybe I should try again and this time i will clean up certificates.
But before I go through all the procedure, do you think that a bad certificate on a browser accessing the NAS could crash the Sabnzbd daemon on the NAS?

Maybe, yes. The problem with this SSL bug - as far as I understand it - is that the SSL library is either receiving too much certificates or one that exceeds the expected length. A broken certificate may well fall into the latter category.

Re: SABnzbd++

Is it possible to change the base folder?

I would like to place the complete download folder and the detect folder somewhere else. not in /c/.sabnzbd

SABnzbd++

Basically you can place it anywhere you like. Just make sure that you get all the ownership and permission stuff right. And maybe watch out to locate it somewhere below the /c directory since otherwise you'll end up with a full OS partition.

Re: SABnzbd++

Sure. You go to SABs config screen, click on the Folders section and change whatever folder you want to change.

Re: SABnzbd++

You can't change it to anything you like cause it says there is a base folder: /c/.sabnzbd and you can only create of select folder in there.

I use the sabnzbd add on

Re: SABnzbd++

just type the path you want to use

ie

/c/downloads/incomplete
/c/downloads/completed
/c/downloads/watched

NOTE: Folders will be created automatically when Saving. You may use absolute paths to save outside of the default folders.

I want to change it to another share

Re: SABnzbd++

Re: SABnzbd++

just type it in like already stated

there should be a global speed limit you just type it in, 200 = 200K = 2M

if you are running on a sparc device (nv+/duo), speed may be limited by the cpu, otherwise the x86 devices should be able to handle however fast your internet is

it works in the version I have, see screenshot above, have you actually tried?

my version is several releases old (v0.5.6-rnx86-0.2.1), so maybe its changed in later versions.

I have a Ultra 2

should be fine

Where can i find the global speed limit?

well unless the UI has changed or is otherwise different from my screenshot, there should be a pretty obvious text box that says speed limit. If its blank then there is no limit set, so the problem is elsewhere. Otherwise I suggest you start looking at all the config/option screens.

Re: SABnzbd++

look, if typing in the full path (/c/data/downloads) does not work for you, then you may have to use ssh and login and create a symlink from the sabnzbd folder to the downloads folder you want.

Re: SABnzbd++

When i download a file with sabnzbd on readynas i get 4MBps, when i download the same file on my windows machine with sabnzbd i get 11MBps. I have a Ultra 2.
When i copy files on the network i het write speeds of 50/60 MBps.

I have no speedlimit set in sabnzbd. Why is it so slow?
