Download Performance Question - Pioneer Pro

I have the Pioneer Pro and typically have solid performance in my home wired LAN - usually 30+MBs. However, when I try to pull files from my NAS through the ReadyNAS remote it is horrible. Currently, I'm trying to pull about 28GB from home (Verizon FiOS 25/25) to work. Work speedtests are strong so the bandwidth is there. Any suggestions on what I can do to increase the speed? This is painful. Thank you.

Yes, remote is slow, because PC connect your NAS via VPN Netgear provide, it transfer data in public network, download performance is limited by internet speed.

At best I'm getting 700KB. This is horrible when trying to transfer anything of size. Any ways around this? thank you.

Re: Download Performance Question - Pioneer Pro

Well assuming optimal conditions 25Mbit upload would get you 2500 KB/s but most likely no more than about 2000 KB/s.

What's your performance like if you say just use FTP with port forwarding not connect through Remote?

Re: Download Performance Question - Pioneer Pro

I get about 1.5-1.75 MB/S. I'd prefer not to set up everything as FTP though if I can avoid it.

Re: Download Performance Question - Pioneer Pro

Can yo go to https://ip.address.of.nas/REMOTE and click on the Advanced Settings button? Is Encryption or the Firewall enabled? If so try disabling those and see if the performance improves.

Re: Download Performance Question - Pioneer Pro

Is there any other way to connect directly from a remote location without using ReadyNAS Remote? I have a dyns address so I'm not worried about changing IP addresses in a dynamic environment through FiOS.
