I have a N300 wireless router of model WNR2000v4. The name of the network has been extended by "-Hacked by " followed by a Russian email address. And then this very same email address appears in the list of networks. It is not password protected. So it seems that the router has been hacked.
I can still log on to my network with the same old password. I want to change password to get rid of the hacker. In the manual, it says that you can change password at routerlogin.net, but this address does not lead anywhere.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Open a web browser. Type in 192.168.1.1 You should get a login page prompt form the router.
Login and reconfigure. If you can't login then reset to factory default and start over. Change login and password and wifi passphrase.
Not only can you get hacked with default passwords, but people can easily connect to your wifi and use your bandwidth, or, use for malicious / illegal activities, in which you would be held responsible.

Re: N300 Wireless Router hacked
I can concur to that, at work the head of the IT and I bet a bottle of Bordeaux if he can hack my router R6220 as a test in less that 3 hours he did it in 1.5. That is why on my R8500 I program wifi deconection during the night apart of the 2.4 legacy!
