Re: netgear cable modem cm1000
Cheat.
directly connect a pc/laptop to the modem and just use that for a long enough period.
If it drops, then its a line or modem issue.
If it stays stable and continues to work, then its time to look at the router.

Re: netgear cable modem cm1000
Our TV is connected directly to the modem and I recently was connected when the problem occurred. The internet started to slow down and mess with the video, until there was no service at all. This happened before the wifi went out. Does that help with the diagnosis? Thoughts?

Re: netgear cable modem cm1000
I googled what you asked for and this is what it said to do: https://kb.netgear.com/30008/How-do-I-obtain-the-event-logs-from-a-NETGEAR-cable-modem-modem-router
Do you want me to do the same thing on a computer that is directly hooked up to the modem? Or do I need to obtain it a different way? Sorry Im new to all of this.
Thank you for the help!

Re: netgear cable modem cm1000
when you log into the modem, you'll click on the cable connection icon. I attached the icon you click on. it'll show the cable connection info.

Re: netgear cable modem cm1000
any splitters or signal attenuators in the coax line?
your have a lot of channels not locking.
check the line for damage, kinks, old/bad/cheap/corrorded connectors and replace them if there are.
