Amazon Basics 800VA UPS works via USB connection to ReadyNAS 214
For those looking for a reasonably priced UPS that works with ReadyNAS, I purchased an Amazon-branded model that works: Amazon Basics 800VA UPS. I connected it to my ReadyNAS 214 using the included USB cable and it was detected by the ReadyNAS Admin software. I haven't actually tested the auto shutdown, but I'm reasonably confident it will work as expected.
Here's a link to the one I purchased:

Re: Amazon Basics 800VA UPS works via USB connection to ReadyNAS 214
BTW, here is the best way to test an UPS:
- Power on the UPS.
- Connect the USB cable to the NAS, but don't power the NAS from the UPS -- plug it in directly.
- Power up the NAS
- Plug a load (100W conventional light bulb works well) into the UPS.
- Unplug the UPS and wait for the shut-down.
Doing it this way, the NAS will not see an uncontrolled removal of power if the UPS doesn't hold up.
