Backup RNDU4000 to a cloud service
Dear,
I'm having already many years a Netgear Ready Nas Ulta 4. RNDU4000
This device is still working fine for many years.
Now I'm trying to make a backup from my NAS to a cloudservice called "stack" BY TRANSIP because I have a free capacity of 1TB with them.
So far this is failing.
When creating a backup plan I:
Define the source netgear and share (see pic1)
Then I have to select "website"
The host name is https://wilsie56.stackstorage.com/login
Then I complete the field with my UID and PWD
When I press the test connection button I receive the error:The site says.....fault with connection.(see pic2)
I know the URL , UID and PWD are working fine using my browser.
Can it be that netgear can't handle this service as I need to connect to an HTTPS system. https://wilsie56.stackstorage.com/login )
When using a browser using http it's getting redirected to https when showing me the login page.
I think I'm still on version 4.2.17.
Tx for your help

Re: Backup RNDU4000 to a cloud service
Hello deejay_1956,
It does appear that you would like to backup the NAS to a remote cloud service. Based on the screenshot you have provided, you are using the built in backup feature of the NAS to create backup job from the NAS to going to remote cloud service. The built in backup feature of the NAS is only used locally from computer to NAS vice versa and rsync to another NAS locally or rsync over ssh over the internet to another NAS. If you have avail service from remote cloud company to backup your NAS then they should have provided somewhat like software application where you can setup to backup the content of your NAS to their remote cloud server.

Re: Backup RNDU4000 to a cloud service
Thanks Marty,
I figured that out and this is working fine using the app from StackIP.
I just have to leave my PC on... 😞
Qnap allows to BU without PC using WEBDAV....
Thanks
