Backup of USB to NAS not working
Working with an NAS Pro 4, with Raidiator 4.2.22.
I have a USB drive that I want to use the automatically copy to NAS function.
I have created a share called usbdevices
I have inserted a Seagate USB drive into the front port of the NAS. The NAS sees it, and I have selected the "usbdevices" share, and added a path "/SeaGate2TB"
I have checked the box for "When the USB flash device is detected, automatically copy content to:"
When we plug in the device, and refresh the screen I see "The following usb storage devices are connected"
But nothing happens. If I go to Windows explorer and look at the share, I do not see any files being created.
What am I missing here? Thanks.

Re: Backup of USB to NAS not working
To rule out permissions causing this issue, start by setting going to (SHARE=> SHARE LISTING=> CIFS ICON for appropriate Share) and select 'Automatically set permissions' and 'Do not allow acl...' with 'Read/Write' set for both 'Group Rights' and 'EveryOne Rights.' Then, under 'advanced options' for the share, set share folder owner to 'nobody' and share folder group to 'nogroup'. Then select 'Set ownership and permission for existing files...' and hit apply. Then start the backup job. If it still fails, I would recommend a temporary downgrade to 4.2.20 until the next firmware is released. Some backups to attached usb drives have been known to fail on 4.2.22
