Can ReadyNAS 2 be used on LAN and USB interchangably?
Hello all,
For the most part, the device would be on the LAN as file server. But, sometimes, I'd like to connect it via USB, i.e. disconnected from LAN. In this case, it serves temporarily as an external drive connected to a workstation to host DriveImageXML images.

You can't connect to it via USB. You can connect USB hard drives to it, but it is a Network Attached Storage, not Direct Attached Storage.
You could do a direct connect with LAN still, but not part of the rest of your network.
