Case # 18825062 - Readynas Pro transfer issues
I have a readynas pro pioneer with the newest firmware installed.
I have been having major issues with transferring files to the box now for over 6 months. Whenever I try to move large files over it freezes about half way through and then locks up. I had the WD green drives in and swap them all out with Seagate drives and it still having issues.
Very upset that I dropped over a grand on a device has such horrible performance issues.
Any ideas? Hoping to find a way to fix this before writing it off and pulling an office space on it.

Re: Very frustrated with Readynas Pro transfer issues
Could you open a tech support (http://www.readynas.com/support) case and edit the thread title (i.e. subject of first post in the thread) to include your case number.
Could you run the "Disk Test" boot option? This will take some hours.
Could you also run a few passes of the "memory test"?
If running those tests doesn't detect an issue, send your logs into support when they request them.

Re: Very frustrated with Readynas Pro transfer issues
I already run the disk check many times some times it says it finds and fixes other times it says there were no errors but yet the problem still remains. I have swapped the ram out 3 times, still same issue. I know it is not my network or computer as I can transfer files to my synolopy nas and my HTPC with zero issues.

Re: Case # 18825062 - Readynas Pro transfer issues
From the logs it appears you have a Pro Business Edition not a Pro Pioneer.
Here are a number of troubleshooting suggestions that may help with identifying the problem:
From the logs it appears you are running 4.2.21-T7 beta. Please update to 4.2.21 production release (http://www.readynas.com/RAIDiator_x86_4_2_21_Notes) and see if it is any different.
I see you have the NASMonitor, Plex installed. What versions of these add-ons are installed?
Sounds to me like an old version of the NASMonitor add-on is installed as you don't have a separate PHP add-on installed. It's possible that this might be related to your problems. It's likely that such an old version of the NASMonitor add-on (including PHP) hasn't been tested on recent firmware.
Also please see if you have the issue with just the single stock 1GB memory module installed and see if that makes a difference. It's possible that your 3rd party memory modules is incompatible and could be causing issues.
It also looks like you are currently using disks that are not on the Hard Disk HCL. It's possible that this may be related to your problems.
Could you also try disabling teaming and seeing if this makes a difference?
Your volume appears to be a triple-layer volume and you haven't done a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) in a long time. While this shouldn't be an issue, it might not be a bad time to backup your data and do a factory default if you have the time. This would give you a clean setup on the firmware you are running with a single-layer volume.

Re: Case # 18825062 - Readynas Pro transfer issues
I will try the newer firmware when I get home but don’t think that is the issue as it has been happening for last 5-6 firmware’s beat and non beta.
Do I even need NASMonitor or Plex? As far as I know I am not using them and can un-install if need be.
I might the stock ram but ram currently installed and a separate set I have worked in the box originally for months without issues.
Like state early this was happening originally with 2TB and 3TB Seagate drives.
Will try the teaming option as well when I get home.
Last option is not really an option as I do not have enough spare space to backup everything I currently have on the NAS.
Thank You for your help and I will report back later

Re: Case # 18825062 - Readynas Pro transfer issues
NASMonitor isn't needed. You could try removing it. There's a possibility you might need someone to SSH in and fix Frontview access after doing this but this wouldn't take long to fix.
Plex should be fine to have installed. If not using it you can remove it. If you wish to keep it you could update it to the latest version if not already running that. See http://www.plexapp.com/linux/linux-pms-download.php
Some of these tips are isolation testing. By checking different things we can hopefully determine what's causing the problem.
I better go get some sleep.

Can you try with just one ethernet cable connected to the NAS? Then if that doesn't work with just the other?

O.K. Teaming probably isn't the issue then. Have you tried any of the other suggestions I gave?
I guess another thing you could try is a direct-connection: How to Direct Connect to your ReadyNAS

Re: Case # 18825062 - Readynas Pro transfer issues
I've been having a similar issue with my Pro Version, my redundant drive was (is) failing but that shouldn't affect the speed of the transfer nor cause it to lock up should it?
This normally happens when I transfer over LARGE amounts of data 😕

A failing drive can cause a problem like this.

I know mine is not due to drive failure as I replaced all 6 and still have the issue

What has tech support had to say? Have they looked at your logs?
