Hello n_damian,
What is the current firmware version of the NAS?
I think this is done through SSH.
Regards,

Re: DLNA symbolic link not working
Hello JennC,
FW 6.6.0
Over SSH:
ln -s /private/movies /data/movies
After rescan, I see movies on the TV/PC but they do not work.

Re: DLNA symbolic link not working
I'm not sure why you are needing to do this. Where is "private" - the OS partition or somewhere else?

Re: DLNA symbolic link not working
My rn104 config:
Volume 1 - /data (admin files)
Volume 2 - /private (less important files)
Volume 3,4 - /mirror (more important files)
I want to share some files with other users via DLNA and i don't want create new share special for this.Other users want do this the same.
Finally DLNA server will stream files from /data/movies.

Re: DLNA symbolic link not working
If movies is a share on private, why not just enable DLNA on that share?

And the ln command you posted earlier has the correct path?
BTW, did you try this with plex as well as ReadyDLNA? They might behave differently.
While I understand the motivation, for now at least it would be easy enough to work around the problem. Just create a share on /private, enable DLNA for it, and then (if desired) create the link in /private/user_share.
Maybe also post the suggestion that ReadyDLNA should follow soft-links on both playback and scanning in the idea exchange here.

Re: DLNA symbolic link not working
On ReadyDLNA (minidlna) symbolic links not working properly. ReadyDLNA follow symbolic link but on TV/PC movies not working. BTW on router with tomato firmware symbolic link works (minidlna server).
On Plex symbolic links work prefect but i don't need so pawerfull server.

Understood. You should post a request (as a "new idea") here https://community.netgear.com/t5/Idea-Exchange-for-ReadyNAS/idb-p/idea-exchange-for-storage?topic-zo...
