Dead disk or broken shell?
ReadyNAS NV would not boot, replaced disk #4 and everything worked fine. Now RAIDar says disk 3 is dead, so I swapped disk 4 (brand new) with disk 3, and RAIDar still says disk 3 is dead. What's happening?

Re: Dead disk or broken shell?
Did you hot-add (add while NAS is on) the disk to slot 3?
If you go to Status > Logs in Frontview what entries do you see?
If you click Download all logs and look at the disk_smart logs do you see errors with disk 3?

Re: Dead disk or broken shell?
1. NAS was powered down when I swapped the disk.

3. Cannot download. Cannot connect to server
Unit has had factory reset. Not yet able to set up. Light for disk 3 is blinking.
